A Special Message

  • A Special Message

You know one of the things I treasure about my best friend, where ever we are in the world, she always sends me letters and postcards. We have been besties since we were 7 year old nippers (mini surf life savers for those that don’t know). Mid May she moved to the UK to be with her brother and his wife who are expecting their first child soon. We are friends on Facebook and Bebo so I can view recent piccies of her trip, and obviously we have each others email addresses and mobile numbers. Still, every week I am receiving letters or cards from her, updating me on her travels. The same thing goes when she is at home in NZ, we still write each other a couple of times a month. The bonus thing is, the cost to post her a card or letter is exactly the same when she is in NZ or in the UK. Its just more of a thrill to get something from her while she is further away having a ball! In this day in age it makes me feel so special, even though its kinda old school, to send letters/cards. I feel good sending them too, because I know it will make the receivers day!

How can I convince my other friends or family to send me letters instead of responding with an email when I write to them?

Does anyone still actually send REAL Birthday cards and Christmas cards these days? Or gifts overseas?

A lousy colleague of mine just buy's gifts on Amazon for his sisters in the UK and gets them delivered to them.. While its the thought that counts, I think its much nicer to still send gifts and wrap them up so its still a surprise when they open the package.

Congratulations to Dabest, Sschmitt, and Tinalou for their contributions to our Special Message Blog. Thank you to every one who participated on this blog. Best regards, OpinionsPaid Team.
