Well, I don't really have any problems researching the purchase of an electronic item. What I want, how much I want to spend and where I will purchase it from - are all relatively easy.
Despite all of this well-prepared research, there are still occasions when things go "wrong" with a purchased item...
The hassles involved in either getting a product repaired or replaced whilst during their warranty period can be insurmountable! If a product has to be returned to say "Retravision" (and I am not labelling this particular company either - just picked their name out of the blue!), then it has to be sent off to the supplier, back to you and so on. All of this then eats into the remaining warranty period. If there is an intermittent problem, then this process can become very onerous.
I feel that when an electronic item is under warranty (or for that matter even slightly out of warranty), then the item should be replaced. Especially once it is found that the cause is due to a faulty component within the item, and not due to the fault of the owner.
Any thoughts on this anyone?
